Down to the Wire

It is only two day until the election and it looks like the race is a tie. I think that's best for Kerry, if you factor in the opinion that undecided voters tend to break for the challenger. I certainly hope so.

I have been positively obsessed with the election coverage. I can't turn on the TV without checking Headline News, CNN, MSNBC and Fox (in that order) and then CSPAN. That leads me to today's rant:

The Importance of Shopping Around

Many people these days get their news from only one or two sources and the sources they do choose tend to be sources that share their own viewpoint. I think it's a good idea to get a wide variety of opinions and draw your own conclusions, instead of swallowing whole, the opinions of others.

Full disclosure time: I am a registered Democrat and yes, I am voting for John Kerry

That being said, I still seek out information from sources that are not traditionally democratic leaning. I listen (as long as I can stand it) to FM Talk in Boston (they got Hannity, et. al.) and I watch Fox News, hell, I sometimes watch The 700 Club.

I do this because I need to decide for myself what the messages are. I don't need the Spinmasters on either side to do that for me. You don't need to have your thoughts given to you either. Seek out your own truth.
